What I've Learned

I saw this on a really cool blog the other day and decided to copy the idea. Here a partial list of what I learned over the last school year:

  • I can appear calm in almost any situation.
  • Prayer helps.
  • Laughter helps.
  • "Yadamean" actually means "You know what I mean."
  • My husband deserves my attention and time.
  • Camping on long weekends forces me not to work on lesson plans.
  • I like to be helped.
  • Happy children learn more.
  • Reading for enjoyment keeps me sane.
  • Lock the door and ignore knocking once in a while.
  • I function much better with 8 hours of sleep.
  • Yogurt tastes better at room temperature.
  • It is possible to do 15 tasks at one time in a classroom of 30 children.
  • Cell phones are not necessary.
  • I'm happier when I'm warm.
  • Steak is a great motivator.
  • Sometimes it is better to just go to bed.
  • Children want attention more than they let on.
  • Ask questions first.
  • A comfortable chair is a great reward.
