When Bowman Wakes at Night

Mom and Dad have been losing some sleep lately.  Mom tried to explain the whole thing to me.  She told me about how all parents worry when their toddlers wake up crying.  Most immediately wonder if he or she has an earache or is teething, try to diagnose the problem as one of those two options, and address it with Tylenol or Orajel.

She said when I wake up really upset at night, she thinks of the normal possibilities, and then keeps on going with a whole list of questions she must ask because we live in Bangladesh.

  1. Did she forget to put the mosquito net down, and might I be getting bites?
  2. Did the power just go off?  I could be upset because the fan turned off and it's getting hot.
  3. Did the generator just turn on?  I could be upset because it is right below my room and really loud.
  4. Did the power just come back on?  And, if so, did she forget to switch off one of the lights, so I'm suddenly floodlighted?
  5. Did I get my hands in my mouth after playing outside without getting them washed?  If so, do I have worms?
Anyway, I'm sorry that I've woken up so upset and been awake for a couple of hours the last two nights, Mom and Dad.  I am trying to sleep, and I appreciate that you're trying to help me sleep.  As soon as I have more words, I'll try to articulate my symptoms more clearly.
