Bowman Meets the Johnsons

So, to add to my long list of last names, I got to find out about the Johnson side of my family this summer.  (Bowman is really the surname of the man who gave that name to the lake in Glacier after which I am named.  David, my middle name, is for the Davidson side of my family.  Carlson, obviously, comes from Dad's side.)  Mom's Mom, my mormor, had the maiden name of Johnson, and that side of my relatives has kept very close over the years, but hasn't been together for a long time.  In honor of, Mishi Angie, almost the whole Johnson family united again for the first time since 1997, if I've got that year right.  How fun it was to meet everyone!

Then, because we couldn't stop celebrating with just the one big wedding party, most of us went to Show Low, Arizona for three days in two humongous cabins.  I got to hike (undeterred by the wildfire trail closings) with a few great aunts and uncles,

chase around my second cousins, or first cousins once removed (was that debate ever solved?),
throw lots of pinecones in the nearby stream with Grandpa
and just enjoy all the good conversations and laughter that the Johnsons have when they're together.  What a legacy of people who want to love Jesus well I have to look up to.
